Sri Manakula Vinayagar Educational Trust was formed with the objective of imparting quality technical education, especially to the weaker sections of the society. To cherish this objective and to join hands with the policy of the Government of Puducherry in enhancing technical education to meet the needs of our nation, the Trust established Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College in 1999.

Prior to this the trust had established and successfully run Mailam Engineering College in 1998. From then on, the trust has been continuously striving to carve itself in to the educational landscape of Puducherry with Venkateswara College of Education and Venkateswara Teacher Training Institute in 2005, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital in 2006 and in 2007 it instituted Sri Manakula Vinayagar Nursing College, Sri Manakula Vinayagar College of Education and Sri Manakula Vinayagar Teacher Training Institute.

Now, almost a decade later after the first institution, it has become ever so imperative to cater to the growing demand for state-of-the art technical education. To this end, the new Manakula Vinayagar Institute of Technology was instituted in 2008. With the approval of the AICTE, New Delhi, this new technical establishment ispoised to forge ahead to fulfill the mission of the trust and to make dreams of the prospective engineers come true.


Continuous Soft Skill Training Programmes being conducted from II year onwards, in various modules like:

  • Team Building
  • Communicate with Impact
  • Lateral and Creative Thinking
  • Decision Making and Problem Solving Skills

The training programmes have been formulated after a thorough and careful analysis of unique requirement of various companies and tailored to best suit to the students’ profile.
Training programmes are conducted by the premier institutions in that industry with high profile trainers having vast experience to enable our students to gain a competitive edge in the recruitment process, groom their confidence and develop their overall personality.

Excellent support provided to the students with Placement Question Bank, Aptitude, Verbal & Non-verbal, Puzzles books and Basic Technical question & answer booklets.
Facilitates the students to participate in the placement meetings conducted by the companies to recognize the need and requirements for recruitment of the companies, and to participate in the campus recruitment of the organizations.

Facilitates strengthening of INDUSTRY INSTITUTE INTERACTION which bridges the gap between industry and academic institute. The activities include:
